Costume designer, costume assistant and a maker
Born and raised in Edinburgh, I felt drawn to the theatre and to film
from a very young age. When I saw "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"
in the West End, I was completely inspired by how the sets and
costumes set the scene before a single word was uttered. I was
drawn to how they contributed to the story telling as the performance
proceeded. I knew from then on that I wanted a career as a designer
within the performing arts. My experiences so far in costume
designing and assisting have only confirmed that long-held desire. I
love developing designs in collaboration with the rest of the team:
the director, the actors, the set and lighting designers. It feels so
satisfying to work as a part of a team, to combine our talents and
create something that has a lasting impact on its audience.
